Admission information

To international students living in Japan (Admission for 2020)

Requirements

You must meet all the following conditions.

  1. You are a foreign national and have completed at least 12 years of education overseas or equivalent.
  2. You meet at least one of the following conditions:
    • You passed the N2 or higher level of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test organized by Japan Educational Exchanges and Services.
    • You scored 200 points or more for “Japanese as a Foreign Language” in the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU) organized by Japan Student Services Organization.
    • You received Japanese language education for at least six months at a Japanese language school authorized by the Ministry of Justice and had a good attendance rate.
  3. You are highly independent and enthusiastic about studying. You have respected laws and will respect laws and school regulations.
  4. You are able to pay tuition fees and living expenses and present documents that objectively proves your ability to do so.

  • If there are many applicants, you may be asked to take the exam on the supplementary date.
  • The exam date, time and venue will be notified individually after the application is received.
  • Admission may close before the deadline. Please check the latest information on the website before applying.

Documents to submit (Copies to be in A4 size)

  1. Application form: (Designated form) To be filled by the applicant
  2. Curriculum vitae: (Designated form) To be filled by the applicant
  3. Agreement regarding Application and Enrollment: (Designated form) To be filled by the applicant and the applicant’s current teacher
  4. Income statement or taxation statement: Documents proving your income for all years after your arrival in Japan, issued by an administrative agency
    *Submit a non-taxation certificate if you have no income.
  5. Academic records and attendance certificate of your Japanese language school: Must provide both the number of attended days and hours
    *If you are not currently enrolled in a Japanese language school, submit the academic records and attendance certificate of your current school as well.
    *Must be issued within two weeks prior to the application.
  6. Certificate of graduation (completion) and academic records of the last school you attended in your home country (original)
    *Attach Japanese translations approved by your current school in Japan.
  7. Copy of your passport: Make copies of the ID page and all other pages with arrival/departure information.
    *Will be checked against the original at the time of application.
  8. Copy of your Residence Card: Copy both sides.
    *Will be checked against the original at the time of application.
  9. Documents regarding your sponsor: Documents proving money transfers from the sponsor to the applicant, or copies of the bank book proving that you have enough money to pay the tuition fees and living expenses
  10. 3 photographs (taken in the last three months): H 4.0 cm x W 3.0 cm (no hat; colored) Taken in the last three months
    *Write your name on the back of the photographs. Attach one of them to the application form.
  11. Entrance exam fee: 10,000 yen (postal money order)  *No refunds
  12. Stamp worth 520 yen  *For sending the result
  13. Results of JLPT and/or EJU: If you have taken JLPT or EJU, attach a copy.

[Notes]

  1. You may be asked to present other documents depending on your situation.
  2. Application may not be accepted if one of the documents is missing.
  3. False statements on the submitted documents may lead to cancellation of enrollment.
  4. The submitted documents and paid entrance exam fee will not be refunded for any reason.
  5. Please fill the documents in Japanese using a black ballpoint pen (erasable pen not accepted).
  6. If you make a mistake, please put two lines over the mistake and rewrite correctly (do not use correction fluid).
    *Please send the above documents (including the entrance exam fee) by registered mail in an A4 envelop (240 mm x 332 mm) or bring them to the school.

*300,000 yen will be deducted from the tuition fees for international students. The fees to be paid for the first year are 650,000 yen.

About the fees

  • The fees for the second year must be paid by February 15, 2021.
  • The teaching material fees do not include fees for dictionaries, reference books, qualification tests, etc.
    If you cancel the enrollment after completing the enrollment procedures, you can submit the Enrollment Cancellation Form and return the Letter of Acceptance by March 31, 2020, to have the fees refunded except for the enrollment fees (100,000 yen).
  • You cannot cancel the enrollment or have the fees refunded after March 31, 2020. After the enrollment, the paid fees will not be refunded for any reason.
