Floods in Nepal caused significant damage to the families of some international students attending our school.
Upon hearing this, second-year international students decided to organize a fundraising campaign, driven by a desire to support their classmate.
The students created posters and actively called for support throughout the school. Their initiative resonated not only with fellow international students but also with Japanese students, leading many students and faculty members to contribute to the cause.
A total of 210,000 yen was raised through these donations.
Half of the collected funds was handed directly to the student’s older brother by Principal Wada to support the affected family. The remaining half was sent to the government of Nepal to aid those impacted by the floods.
This fundraising drive began when students considered what they could do to help peers in need and took the initiative to act. Many other students and staff members responded to this sentiment, expanding the circle of support throughout the entire school.
